Wave training

Do you have any articles on wave training? Or is that something you are experimenting with? I talked with a guy who was curious.

Comment: Wave Training

Charles Poliquin uses this form of training. The book is Modern Trends in Strength Training- Reps and Sets 3rd Edition.

Wave training consists of finding a starting weight that is submaximal and working your set/reps up to a maximal or fatiguing set.

7-5-3 or 5-3-1 or 20-12-6 it depends on what you are seeking in your development.

General rule: under 200#  use  a 5# increment over 200#  use a 10# increment. You continue the wave [each set] and you finish when a wave cannot be completed. This usually is 4 waves. If it is more you must adjust the starting weights if it is less- adjust appropriately.

Do you increase weight at the end of the wave or each set?
