You don't need any special footwork apparatus like in the video, you can just put some tape or chalk on the ground.

Resistance bands are a great way to train and they are easily portable. That's why virtually all professional athletes are using resistance bands in their training programs. Everyone from the worlds #1 tennis player Roger Federer, to worlds #1 mixed martial arts fighter Fedor Emelianenko use resistance band training.

This demonstration of footwork drills was done using a #4 Iron Woody Fitness band which provides 50-120 lbs of resistance depending on how far you are stretching it. (less)
